a day at the horses

On  a side road just behind Green Point Park is the idyllic home of our local service horses. All you need to make friends are some carrots and apples.

The sun had come out after what felt like weeks of rain, so we decided to take a little trip to treat the police horses. The girls couldn't get over how big and majestic they were but eventually managed to pluck up the courage to offer up their gifts and brave a little stroke on their muzzles...

The horses were calm, healthy, well groomed and quite interested in our little entourage. They gently nudged the girls hello and   lifted the treats of the girls hands with their mouths.... except the one little nibbler (but it was just a tiny nibble and it was my finger... ). And my basket almost got munched a couple of times.

If you pop round earlier in the day they will be roaming around in the paddocks.  We got there in the late afternoon when they were all stabled up, but the kindly keeper allowed us
in for a quick hello.
We really do have  a little  bit of everything on the Atlantic Seaboard.
